Second stage
In about the thirteenth week of pregnancy, nausea, morning usually disappear, but their place is occupied by other symptoms such as constipation, heartburn, and frequent need to urinate. Also, these symptoms are the result of hormonal changes that now affect the muscles of the stomach, intestines and bladder. Hormonal changes are also linked with an increment of weight. At this stage the weight gain is only about 0.5 kilograms, but in the eighteenth week comes to an average of 4 kilograms, in the thirty-week to 9 kilograms, and just before giving birth to about 13 pounds.
